Our Mission

At the core of our mission is addressing one of the leading causes of failed adoptions: untreated behavioral issues. Through structured training, behavioral rehabilitation, and intentional socialization, we prepare dogs not just for placement — but for long-term success in real homes.
We provide free and subsidized training, including board-and-train programs, for rescue dogs in foster care and for families who would otherwise not have access to professional support. By equipping both dogs and adopters with the tools they need, we increase stability, reduce returns to shelters, and create lasting outcomes.
Our programs also extend into community education, empowering fosters and adopters with guidance, structure, and support.
Working Together to Save More Lives
Korean K9 Rescue
Korean K9 Rescue (KK9R) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from South Korea's meat trade and high-kill shelters. They work tirelessly on the ground to save dogs, coordinate international flights, and ensure each animal receives medical care before arriving in the U.S. The Expawers Ranch Foundation proudly supports KK9R's mission and works alongside them to expand rescue capacity and find homes for dogs in need.
A Dedicated Ranch Outside of NYC
As part of our long-term vision, we are developing a dedicated ranch facility outside of New York City — a purpose-built environment where dogs can decompress, receive individualized care, and be properly developed before entering homes.
This space will serve as both a training center and sanctuary, allowing us to expand our impact without compromising quality.
